Privacy and accessibility
Veterans Housing Veterans Inc. ("VHV") is a Florida nonprofit. This page explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- When you apply or contact us: what you type into our forms. For a housing application that can include your name, contact details, date of birth, address, military service, where you are staying now, income, recovery history, legal history, an emergency contact and anything you choose to tell us.
- When you volunteer or send us a message: your name, contact details and what you tell us. A copy also comes to our team by email so we can answer you.
- When you give online: donations are processed by Zeffy. Zeffy collects your payment details. We receive your name, contact details, the gift amount and any note you add. We never see or store your card number.
- When you visit: like any website, our hosting company keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you open. This site does not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To review your request for housing, work or homeownership help, and to contact you about it.
- To match you with an open bed and plan your move-in.
- To send donation receipts and thank-you notes.
- To send our newsletter, if you signed up for it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep our homes safe and meet our legal and reporting duties.
Who sees it
- VHV staff who handle intake, housing and donations.
- Our secure client management system, where form submissions are stored.
- Zeffy, for online donations.
- The email service we use to send our newsletter, only for sending it.
- A case manager, treatment provider or other partner only when you ask us to, or give us permission to, work with them.
We never sell, rent or trade your information.
Phone calls, texts and email
If you agree on a form, we may call, text or email you about your request. Message and data rates may apply. You can ask us to stop texting or calling you at any time by calling 813-471-5648 or emailing info@veteranshousingveterans.com.
How we protect it
Our forms send your information over an encrypted connection. Only staff who need your information to help you can see it. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will tell you as Florida law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep records only as long as we need them to serve you and to meet legal and funding requirements.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Call 813-471-5648 or email info@veteranshousingveterans.com. This website is not meant for children under 18.
Fair housing
VHV provides housing without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin. People in recovery are protected as people with disabilities. To ask for a reasonable accommodation, call 813-471-5648.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards or other assistive tools. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The opening scene respects your device's reduced-motion setting and shows a still image instead.
